OX Discovery
Where Adventure Meets Refinement
OX CHALLENGE
Many will start. Few will finish.
The OX Challenge is the ultimate test of off-road navigation. Built for the most daring and relentless teams, this competition requires pure grit and masterful vehicle management. Operating as a single unit (min. 4 people, 2 vehicles), only the toughest will survive the route.
THE TEAM
A tactical unit of minimum 4 people and 2 vehicles. One rig competes against the clock and the terrain, while the second serves as your essential support vehicle. Success depends on total coordination.
NAVIGATION
Precision is everything. Teams will follow a strict track via GAIA GPS. Every vehicle will be monitored with a GPS Tracker. Errors or delays result in penalties. Accuracy is key.
THE CHALLENGE
500+ miles of relentless navigation across Central and North Florida. A brutal combination of asphalt link stages and deep immersion into vast backcountry corridors and undeveloped wildlands.
THE LEGACY
Your struggle will be immortalized. A professional crew will film the competition for a multi-episode YouTube series. Every triumph and failure will be part of the OX History.
THE RIGS
Two vehicles, one mission. The Competitor battles the route, while the Support Vehicle handles all logistics. Success depends on precise vehicle management and coordination. 5 days of technical endurance.
THE GLORY
There is no second place. One winner, one trophy, and the ultimate pride of conquering the route. Those who manage to cross the finish line will earn the respect of the entire off-road community.

Are you ready to represent the OX Legacy? We are looking for 10 elite teams to document the most authentic and challenging off-road experience of the year.

Selection is now open.
FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What exactly is the OX Challenge and how does the competition work? The OX Challenge is an elite-level, multi-day off-road navigation, precision, and survival competition. Each team will be provided with a .gpx file containing the track, waypoints, and checkpoints to download into the Gaia GPS app, along with a detailed Roadbook. The objective is to drive following the exact given track and Roadbook instructions, meeting predetermined times and distances for each section.
Competitors must record their entire track and take a photo using Gaia GPS at designated Checkpoints to establish and prove their exact arrival time.

2. How do penalties work? Precision is everything. Any deviation from the established route (starting at 100 ft) will be penalized. Similarly, every minute you are late arriving at the next Checkpoint will result in penalty points (full details will be in the official rulebook). Transit sections ("links") on asphalt roads have free time and distance, meaning they are not evaluated or penalized. To keep the strategy alive, the organization will release the daily results and standings every night at base camp.

3. How many people and vehicles make up a team? To participate, it is mandatory to have a minimum team of 4 people and 2 vehicles:

-
1 Competitor Vehicle: (Driver and Co-Driver). This vehicle must remain the same from the starting line to the finish line; it cannot be swapped under any circumstances.
-
1 Support Vehicle: (Minimum of 2 Staff Members). This vehicle can be replaced in the event of a catastrophic failure.

A team can have a maximum of 8 members in total. Because this is a high-risk, serious competition, no minors and no pets are allowed.

4. Why is a Support Vehicle mandatory? The OX Challenge is a test of absolute self-sufficiency. The organization will not provide rescues, mechanical assistance, or catering. The Support Vehicle and its crew are entirely responsible for your team's logistics: carrying spare parts, setting up camp, cooking, and most importantly, recovering or repairing the Competitor Vehicle if it gets stuck or breaks down on the trail. Teams must solve their own problems.

5. What are the camping conditions during the route? This is pure, old-school off-roading. It is not a weekend of luxury. Campsites will be 100% primitive. Potential sleeping areas will be marked in the Roadbook (some may double as Checkpoints, others may not). For absolute, non-negotiable safety reasons, it is mandatory to have a working Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector INSIDE every vehicle (both the Competitor and Support vehicles) at all times.

6. How does the organization prevent cheating? During check-in, the organization will install a live GPS Tracker on all Competitor Vehicles. This allows us to monitor the live location of the entire convoy and serves as an undeniable backup to verify the vehicle's satellite position against the track recorded on Gaia GPS. This confirms the vehicle was physically at the required Checkpoint, leaving zero room for cheating.

7. What are the rules regarding filming, cameras, and confidentiality? The OX Challenge will be professionally filmed for YouTube. By applying, all participants agree to sign an Image Release and commit to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the routes, challenges, and results until the organization officially publishes the episodes. Additionally, teams must agree to have fixed cameras mounted inside their vehicles and, when requested, allow our cameramen to ride along in their vehicles during specific sections of the route.
8. Can my vehicle display sponsor logos or advertising? Given the massive reach of the YouTube production, there are strict advertising rules. If the Competitor or Support Vehicle is wrapped or displays prominent advertising (e.g., the name of a mechanic shop, accessory brand, dealership, etc., excluding non-profits), the team must request an Advertisement Permit and pay the corresponding fee to OX for those brands to be shown on camera.
