Our Origin & The Founder
Overland Xperience (OX) was born from a deep passion for exploration, precision, and the authentic off-road lifestyle. Founded by Luis Vassallo, the OX concept is built on a foundation of more than 30 years of extreme international overland travel, global expeditions, and rigorous off-road expertise.
Luis is a recognized Off-Road Expert whose expedition resume spans the globe, with every journey deeply rooted in the practice of off-road and extreme sports. His extensive field experience includes two monumental overland expeditions to Alaska: a grueling winter push from Houston to Prudhoe Bay, and a massive summer traverse from the southernmost point of the continental US (Key West) to the northernmost point (Prudhoe Bay). His international track record also features the epic "Travesía 6 Fronteras" across South America (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil) and navigating the remote Australian Outback.
His authority in the off-road world extends beyond international expeditions to major industry productions. Luis served as the Organizer, Host, and Head Judge for the "Tacompetencia"—a large-scale television production by Televisa/Univision for Toyota USA. This unparalleled background—combining the survival instincts of a global explorer with the meticulous planning of an expert organizer and judge—is the driving force behind the OX standard.
